Due to likely inclement weather in the DFW area this week, the Joshua Owls will now host a portion of the 10th Annual Drew Medford Memorial Tournament, set to take place Thursday, March 5th, through Saturday, March 7th. This schedule is, of course, subject to change.
Updated Schedule for Joshua
(all games to be played at Glen Holley Memorial Park on the campus of JHS)
Thursday, March 5th: 11:00 AM vs. Fort Worth Country Day; 6:30 PM vs. L.D. Bell
Friday, March 6th : 4:00 PM vs. Mandeville (LA)
Saturday, March 7th: 10:00 AM vs. Lake Belton; 12:30 PM vs. Richland
Drew Medford graduated from Fort Worth Paschal High School in 2016 after a stellar career as a three-year starter at catcher for head coach Darrell Preston and the Paschal Panther baseball team. Drew was just a few weeks from beginning his collegiate baseball career at TCU when he died in a car accident.
The Drew Medford Memorial Tournament gives a scholarship to a player on each team in the tournament, and in the last decade has gifted over $200,000 to student-athletes from all over the region. Donations can be made at the Drew Medford Memorial Tournament website.

You know how sometimes radio stations will be classic rock one day, then Top 40 the next? Or are you under 30 and literally have no clue what a radio station is? Either way, do me a favor and pretend you know what I'm talking about, 'cause that's kind of what's going on here at OwlsOnTheAir.com.
Starting...now, I guess...there won't be any play-by-play of JHS baseball or basketball game (football play-by-play this fall are TBD). The reason: I'm helping out with the Owls' baseball program. Coach Carrizales and his staff have been cool enough to let me lurk at practices the last couple weeks, and I'm going to keep doing so. I'm also going to be in the dugout for most games, thus rendering play-by-play nigh impossible for thee.
Does that mean I'm done with this little project? Not at all. I'll still post game recaps and district standings at least once a week, and I'll figure out some audio to record and post here semi-regularly. I'm not sure if that's a JHS baseball podcast, or interviews with players/coaches, or a breakdown of the most asinine threads on Joshua Residents Talking, or haiku about the infield fly rule (Bases are loaded/There's one out in the inning/Pop-up fair's an out), or some combination thereof...but I'll figure it out. Scratch that...WE'LL figure it out. Together. TEAMWORK=DREAM WORK, or some such.

If you send (or don't send) anything I'll never know, as economics confound and frighten me...I don't even have a bank account. My bride, though, will certainly appreciate the contribution, especially since I'm volunteering my coaching services this spring and won't make any ad money on play-by-play.
